Facing the constant worry of tech mishaps? EE steps up with its innovative Multi Tech Cover, designed to protect your devices and ease your mind. This new offering from EE isn't just another insurance plan; it's a comprehensive solution for safeguarding your essential tech.

This launch directly addresses a pressing need: a significant portion of the UK population requires device replacements annually. EE's research reveals that nearly a quarter of Brits have had to replace a device in the past year. Furthermore, a whopping 64% of people would prefer a single, easy-to-manage policy for their tech.
EE's Multi Tech Cover, developed in collaboration with Chubb, provides a user-friendly and flexible approach to device protection. It's offered on a rolling monthly basis, giving you complete control.
What does this cover?
You can choose from two tiers, easily accessible through the EE app or website:
- Damage Cover: Includes accidental damage, extended warranty, worldwide protection, and manufacturer-approved repair or replacement. It even covers in-box charging accessories.
- Full Cover: Offers all the benefits of Damage Cover, plus protection against loss and theft.
What devices are covered?
The policy covers a wide array of devices, whether purchased new or refurbished from EE or a third-party retailer:
- Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Headphones, Smartwatches, and E-readers
- Home Security Accessories (e.g., video doorbells) and Fitness Trackers
- Gaming Consoles, Controllers, and VR Headsets (damage-only claims)
Here's a key benefit: Even if your device is past its manufacturer's warranty, EE will still provide breakdown cover for devices under five years old, for the duration of your policy.
Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product at EE, highlights the customer-centric approach: "We understand that our customers’ lives are powered by a whole ecosystem of technology, which is why Multi Tech Cover will be so beneficial to them. It brings peace of mind by allowing customers to protect multiple devices under a single, flexible policy. Whether it’s a phone, a laptop or even a fitness tracker, we want to make it simple, affordable and stress-free to look after everything that matters to you.”
Chris Eappariello, President, Personal Lines EMEA, Chubb, emphasizes the innovation: "We’re seeing increased demand from customers to protect a wider array of tech products. This launch is a testament to our shared commitment to insurance innovation and to meeting the evolving needs of UK consumers. By combining manufacturer-approved repairs, flexible cover, and comprehensive protection for multiple devices, we’re delivering a truly customer-centric solution that stands out in the market for its simplicity and customer focus.”
How much does it cost?
Multi Tech Cover is available on a monthly rolling plan with two options:
- Damage Cover: £15.99 per month
- Full Cover: £22.99 per month
Claim Details:
Customers with Damage Cover can make up to five claims within any 12-month period. Full Cover allows up to five claims within the same timeframe, with up to three eligible for loss or theft. A significant advantage is that you don't need to register all your devices to make a claim.
Multi Tech Cover builds upon EE’s existing Single Tech Cover, which offers unlimited damage claims and allows customers to make up to two loss or theft claims (for the full cover version) in any 12-month period. Providing repair or replacement for damaged devices. Single Tech Cover can last for up to five years with no minimum contract term, with Multi Tech Cover offering even greater flexibility as it continues until cancelled.
Claims can be made easily through My EE online or the EE App.
But here's where it gets controversial... Is this level of coverage truly necessary for everyone, or is it an overreaction to the potential for device damage and loss?
